Keeping everyone safe, comfortable, and having the best time on wheels

​

1. SKATE POLICY

  • No dirty, damaged, oiled or unsafe skates

  • No aggressive inline skates or Heeley's or similar skate shoes

  • Quad skates must have two good toe stops or jam plugs

  • All skates are checked for rink‑worthiness on entry

  • If skates don’t meet standards, guests must repair, replace, or hire skates
     

Safety Restrictions:

  • No entering or exiting the venue while wearing skates

  • No skates are to be worn outside the building at any time

  • No skates are to be worn downstairs

  • Guests must not walk down the stairs in skates

  • Guests who do not comply may be asked to remove their skates or leave the venue
     

2. WAIVER REQUIREMENTS

  • All skaters must have a valid, completed waiver before entering the rink

  • Guests without a valid waiver will not be permitted to skate

  • Waivers for under‑18s must be completed by an adult (18+)

  • Waivers must be accurate and up to date

  • Staff may request ID to verify waiver details
     

3. ENTRY & SECURITY POLICY

  • Rollerworld reserves the right of admission

  • No pass‑outs or re‑admission

  • All guests require a ticket (participation or non‑participation dependant on the session i.e. Beginners sessions are FREE for spectators)

  • Under 18's must pay the full admission price for that session, over 18's can spectate for a fee of £1.00 per person.

     

Security Searches:

  • Bag and personal searches are conducted on entry as permitted under relevant legislation

  • If you do not wish to comply with a search, you will be refused entry into the venue

  • Refusal of a bag or personal search at any point results in refusal of entry

  • Strictly NO outside food and drink is permitted into the venue, we do have a drinks storage locker at reception for you to use.
     

4. FOOD & DRINK POLICY

  • No outside food or drink permitted

  • Tap water is available from the café free of charge at all times.

  • No chewing gum anywhere in the venue

  • Harpers bar is strictly 18+ (Challenge 25) – ID will be required, no ID no entry (Must be a physical copy, no photographs or online ID will be accepted)
     

5. DRESS CODE

  • Recommended: Smart/Casual and comfortable to skate in.

  • Family venue so we ask that appropriate clothing is worn.
     

  • Hoods are not permitted inside the venue

    • Guests will be asked to remove their hood

    • Failure to comply will result in being asked to leave
       

  • No offensive clothing

  • Shoes, coats, bags must be stored in lockers 
    (We do not accept any responsibility for lost/stolen personal belongings) 

  • Lockers cost a non‑refundable amount of £1.00 per locker per session.
     

6. INSIDE THE VENUE

  • The venue contains steps and ramps
    (We have a removable disability ramp for wheelchair access into the building and a lift in the building from reception to the main rink area)

  • Flashing lights, lasers, strobe lighting and similar effects may be used during skating, please make us aware of any medical concerns with regards to strobe lighting.

  • No professional or flash photography without management approval
     

Device Restrictions on the Rink:

  • No use of mobile phones, cameras, video recorders, Go-Pros or camera sticks on the rink

    • This includes handheld devices, chest mounts, helmet mounts, selfie sticks, stabilisers and similar equipment

    • All devices must be stored safely in lockers before entering the rink

    • Strictly no mobile phones are allowed on the rink.
       

  • No swearing or anti‑social behaviour

  • No smoking or vaping anywhere inside Rollerworld
    (Vaping is allowed in Harpers bar 18+ only)

    Hocky stopping

  • Hocky stopping is not permitted on the rink, this also applies during the games- we work hard to preserve the rink and to maintain a safe environment for all skaters.
     

7. CCTV 

  • CCTV operates 24 hours a day

  • By attending Rollerworld, guests agree to be photographed/filmed and allow use of their likeness for promotional or marketing materials.​

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need a waiver to skate?

Yes. All skaters must have a valid waiver. Without one, you cannot enter the rink.
 

Can I book online?

For our main public sessions, we do not operate a booking system. Please turn up to your desired session and pay upon arrival.

Some of our special events may be ticket only but this will be specified on the event details on our website.

Can I bring my own skates?

Yes—just ensure they meet our safety standards. All skates are checked on arrival.

Can I leave the venue and come back later?

No. There are no pass‑outs or re‑admission.

​

Can I bring my own food or drink?

No outside food or drink is allowed. Medical exceptions require a valid medical note.

Do you have lockers?

Yes. Lockers are available for a non‑refundable £1.00, these can be purchased from reception downstairs or from the main skate hire desk.
All bags, coats and shoes must be stored securely.

We do not accept any responsibility from any lost, stolen or misplaced personal belongings
 

Why do you search bags?

Searches are carried out under permitted legislation to ensure the safety of all guests. Refusal to be searched means refusal of entry.
 

Are hoods allowed?

No. Hoods must be down at all times inside the venue. Guests who refuse will be asked to leave.
 

Can I take photos or videos?

Personal photos are fine, but no professional or flash photography without management approval. Phones and cameras are not allowed on the rink.

Can we purchase Alcohol?

Yes, Alcohol is only permitted to be purchased in Harpers bar for guests aged 18+. Challenge 25 is in operation. You CAN NOT bring in your own alcohol in. 
 

What happens if my skates aren’t safe?

You’ll need to repair, replace, or hire skates before entering the rink.
 

What is the minimum age requirement?

We do not operate a minimum age requirement, unless advertised as an over 18 only event.

What is the smallest and biggest skate size you hire out?

We hire out skate sizes for toddlers from an adjustable size 6 - 10 these are the over the shoe skates and require all children to have sensible shoe on, i.e. no crocs or open toed shoes.

Our other quad skates go from a toddler size 8 to an adult size 12 (these can accommodate a size 13 as well)

Do you hire inline skates?

No, unfortunately we only hire out quad skates, you are more than welcome to bring your own.

Can children attend the 7pm - 11pm Friday and Saturday sessions?

Yes, all our main public sessions are open to all ages and abilities unless advertised as an adult only late night skate session. All over 18's events are advertised on our website, so you never miss a date.


Do you do discount for carers, NHS, Blue Light or any other form of discount?

No, unfortunately not, we like to keep all our prices low for everyone to ensure its affordable for all. Our prices are set the same for adults and children for all our main public sessions.

How long can we stay and skate for?
​ We do not operate a time limit, you are more than welcome to stay as long as you like during our session opening hours, i.e. if you coming along to our Thursday evening session this runs from 6pm - 10pm then you can arrive between those hours and stay until the session closure time.

What are the office opening hours?​

Our office opening hours are from 10am - 2pm Monday - Friday, if you need anything please feel free to ring up during these hours as well as our evening and weekend session times. We are more than happy to help.
